Russell said...: Blogger's not allowing comments on stories without previous comments right now, so this comment is misplaced - it should go, perhaps, with the posting about the petition for bloggers rights.

I'm not as sure that the prophet insisted that petitions trump religious authority, but hey, maybe it's in there somewhere. My expectations of tyrants are low - call me cynical.

My real concern is that bloggers in Iran and elsewhere understand the ways in which they can protect themselves - by using proxies including friends in the west who they can send messages to through SSL webmail providers, neomailbox, for example.

Better safe than sorry. Getting some Westerners together to pay for such addresses, if necessary, might be possible as well - but certainly, finding Western reposters is very possible.; 10:01 AM
