Do they (iranians) hate Israel? Hate western values? marsipilami asked.

In iran the only vice is heared is the regim's, what you see in tv is not the face of iranian people.I know imagining of such a thing for those who were born in a free country is difficult, but it's a fact that a small minority is speaking for all the society.
You see people in the streets shouting down with usa and israel, don't believe it! it's not the truth.
the real people are those who will get in jail and probably tortured -even killed if say why they think and by the way there is no way to expose their thoughts atall unless in weblogs as you can see today.

remember people gathered for nine eleven's victims in Mohseni sq'-tehran and gave their silence respect and simpathy to american people with their tears and candles.

Israelies and americans! my people do not hate you! don't believe the mollas' show!

Do they still believe the Shah was a puppet of the USa and Israel?
I think they do. They got used to believe that in middle east regims come and go by westerns' hands.

I must beg to differ. I was recently at the Rahpeymayee at Azadi Square and was stunned at what I saw.

I am suprised at the volume of people I meet in Iran that take issue with Israel (on a conceptual level i.e. a Jewish democratic state (oxymoron surely) plonked on rightly disputed land). Sadly this bleeds over to become synonymous with a dislike for Jewish folk.

In the same way that the actions of Israel (the government) are not representative of Jews or even the Israelis necessarily, its the same for the Iranians. So with this, I agree with you but there is, from what I see, a strong resentment among the people against these entities - egged on my the leaders no doubt, but present nevertheless.

Read about my experience here.

Keep up the good work.

Neda,

It's so horrible to contemplate harming innocent people who are controlled by evil dictators. But the dictators are fixed on killing us (Westerners). The only way to stop them is with force, which will accidentally kill innocent Iranians.

I hope a third way becomes realistic. Americans don't want to kill plain old citizens of Iran.

I don't use the word "flabbergasted" very often - in fact I don't recall ever writing it, but if we look at one of the comments above, this is the most polite way I can respond. To remind you which one I will repeat the entry and change a name or two - just for fun like.

Killing innocent human beings is a big crime whether he is American or non-Americans. We can see terrorists killing hundreds of innocent lives and the Bush administration is killing thousands of innocent non-Americans. Both are doing very dangerous and evil crime.

Yes, some times force is essential to bring things ok, but force with prejudice and discrimination create more dangerous activities. American administration is using force without justice, this is not a solution to stop terrorism. Both are making the world a hell. The real intension of the US is not stoping terrorism, but killing the people in the name of 'national interest' which is based on unjust and prejudice. The result of any action without justice and balance should be the increase of troubles and dangerous reactions. That is what happening in the present world.

The problem is that your nations leadership, wants a conflict with the west, because it will halt and reverse the trend towards liberalization in Iran. Liberalization will give more power to the people, and take it away from religious leaders.

While certainly we American's have blood on our hands, we were a relatively peaceful people before 911. We do not kill people in order to provoke war, where as the leaders of Iran may very well kill a lot of people merely to consolidate their power.

The US is acting as a World Police and interfering internal matters of all most all the countries. They say these are all "for their national interest"! In the name of checking of terrorism, they conduct State Terrorism, this creates more terrorists world wide.

The US provided chemical weapons and other encouragements to Saddam to wage a long war with Iran and when he turned back, the US, for their national interest began to fabricate stories against Iraq and conducted mass killing and genocide in the name of Democracy.

Now every day democracy is progressing in Iraq. The US thirst for blood was not stopped with the genocide and mass killings in Afghan. Thousands and thousand of men, women and children are every day dying and living there without food, water, electricity and medicine.

Now the US is on the way to fabricate stories of nuclear weapons of Iran. The same stories, as fabricated in Iraq, the US is moving on the same track. In front of Saddam, the US put so many requirements and the cruel Saddam agreed all conditions and exposed every thing to US and even they conducted inspections in Saddams kitchen too!! At last, when US was sure, there was nothing to fear, they freely conducted genocide and mass killings. Now US wish to know a detailed history of the weapons in Iran, if US get a clear picture it is easy to rain US bombs there. All these cruel and devilish killings in Afghan and Iraq are conducted in the name of national interest and democracy.

Now it is the turn of Iran, then China after .

We wish this world a smooth place for this generation and next generation as well. Because of the US violation of human rights and its state terrorism, more and more terrorists are developing day by day. This move is a great threat to all countries of the world and humanity.

Anon, Martin Luther King chose peaceful demonstration. Ghandi, peaceful demonstration... it doesn't have to cost lives to press forward.

Sorry, but as long as Irans leaders advocate death and destruction to Israel, or Al Queda comes around blowing up sites in North America and Europe... they get to stay on the "Place cruise missle here" list.

When the Imams of the west start outing the terrorists, when the Muslim peoples do more than say "we are not all like this", then maybe dialogue can occur.

No one denies that the Middle East suffered from Imperialism, but you can't turn back the clock dude, and killing innocents isn't going to get the guilty rushing to the alter to confess their sins.

You have to rise above the violence, you have to rise above the avarice.

I know many Iranians, and I know they put their pants on one leg at a time, just like most North Americans, but there is no way in hell that the west is letting a nutjob like your primeminister get a hold of nuclear technologies which allow uranium enrichment.

Posturing aside, Muslim Fanatic's scare the hell out of the West, and rightly so... how long until your Mullah's decide it's expedient to share that technology with the Hamas, or the Al Quida, or whatever crazy terrorist might further a political goal for them.

I feel bad that the average citizen is caught in the middle, but they are your leaders, and in the end, your responsibility.

Listen the Israels are no heroes, but I think the idea that they are just genociding Palestinians is not consistant with reality. Why not give the jews a homeland in the West?

Well, actually more jews live in US then probably anywhere else. The thing is they don't want our land for a nation, they want palestine.

I think Palestinian conflict is just used so that muslims can feel like martrys without actually being martyrs. Most of the support and aid for the Palestinians comes from the west. Palestine is just used by despotic islamic leaders to distract from the fact that they are ruling with an iron fist, by using the conflict in Israel to manipulate the people.

Yes, under the "Bush democracy" killing is a jock and a play. He already killed thousands and thousand of Afghans and created Democracy.

In Iraq also "Bush Democracy" is progressing day by day. Killing is going on, be happy ...

Next, Bush is preparing to create "Bush Democracy" in Iran, and then in China "Bush Democracy" will be created, then ... Japan.
Little time will take for Japan ... ok, happy ??

I am an American. My family has lived here for generations and this is the identity we have, the country we love, and, importantly, that form of government that works best for us. While many fear the people and the politics of the middle east, some of us realize it is just that - politics and lust for power. There is no government or religion that has not strayed from its intended course due to egotism and lust for power. Unfortunately, we citizens pay the price. My countrymen are dying in Iraq for a cause that is no longer evident (aside from not being a western lifestyle - which many freely do not want) and a government with an agenda. Your countrymen are dying, being jailed and persecuted by a government with an agenda. While the style may be different, the ends are the same. We are one race of men - as God intended (the God of Abraham or Ibrahim) united in servitude to those with an agenda, but united nonetheless. You bring the face of Iran that neither the west nor the east want anyone to see. I bring only myself and hope for my children to see that face and that spirit. Together we make a difference. Peace.

1)The greater the hate the more power all governments have over people.
2)The United States will not lose without destroying the planet.
Knowing these facts, why can't we see all the good things we all have in common.

But u know, American admin. speak for people, see in Afghan & Iraq, there, America spoke for people.

"The American people do not have ill feeling towards the people of Iran."

That is y American is making preparations for a mass killing there.

i'm an american and i couldn't disagree with this more. america has been the single most war prone country in the world since the end of world war two. from 1945 to 1999 my country bombed china, korea, gautemala, indonesia, cuba, congo, peru, laos, vietnam, cambodia, grenada, libya, el salvador, nicaragua, panama, iraq, sudan, afghanistan, and yugoslovia...did i miss any? 9/11 just allowed w. bush to be much more overt.

one of the problems is that my country is a mix between a corporatocracy and a theocracy. we pretend to be a democracy ourselves, but between rigged elections (companies that *make* the voting machines promised to deliver certain states where their machines were being used to george w bush) and the influence of christian fundamentalists and international conglomerate corporations, we have nothing close to a democracy.

additionally, while we as citizens of the usa are responsible for the constant killing of innocents worldwide, i must say that there were many people who strongly opposed the war. i marched with thousands and thousands of us citizens several times before and during the wars. most of this country was duped by false propaganda propagated by our falsely elected government. i think it is a shame that we went to war with iraq in particular, and i sincerely hope that we do not have any sort of military confrontation with iran. i hope that the people of iran can succeed in bringing about a democracy for yourselves, and i hope that the people of my own country rise up and take back control of our own nation.

one way or the other, though, i believe that america is on the brink of collapse itself. it is the largest 'empire' that has ever existed on this planet, but like all it will fall. america will not be able to go to war with china, because china is currently paying for our wars. my government is running trillions of dollars into debt between tax cuts for the rich and the billions upon billions we spend on our military (almost 50% of world military spending!). while the government is going into massive debt, so are it's citizens. the bulk of people in the usa are thousands upon thousands of dollars in debt. while we own so many things, and do have great infrastructure (electricity, water, interstate highways, etc)...it will all come crashing down when the international banks demand their money. and when china and japan, who are buying us treasury bonds (i.e. lending us money that helps us pay for bombs and *gasoline*) start wanting their money back, this nation will be crippled. the us dollar will sink in value and inflation will run so high that nobody will be free in any way. the us citizens will all be indentured servants to global corporations.

how i wish i can change the world.

i will do what i can to help peace prevail. there is no killing that is fruitful.

Kayhan: "Announce as soon as possible that you won't have any dialogue with the U.S. and avoid entering a destructive trap that has been prepared for Islamic Iran."

What destructive trap?! I am a born and raised American citizen, I have married an Iranian citizen who is now an American citizen. The only thing Americans are worried about is terrorism. We could care less, and it is not our business, if your government does not have a separation of mosque and state like ours does. We just want peace in the world.

Could someone explain why adherents of Islam, that religion of peace, are the only ones who routinely behead innocent people, without any Muslims complaining, while a little cartoon sets off worldwide riots and - suprise - more killings? Can someone explain why adherents of Islam, that religion of peace, are the only ones who seem unable to make any comment without screaming for someone or some nations death? Can someone explain why we in the West consider the adherents of Islam in the Middle East to barbaric uncivilized savages? (See question 1 & 2 above)

To those who hate the US and Israel, and consider them the threat to peace.

why is the Iranian govt threatening Israel and the US?

The US did not threaten Iran with nuclear weapons or 40,000 sucide bombers.

The mullahs can't be trusted with the lives of their OWN people, and yet, readers here think it's OK for them to have nuclear bombs!

where is the logic in that thinking!?

Iran will never win a nuclear war with the west! And yet, knowing this, they are willing to sacrifice the lives of their own people!

hatred for the US and Israel seems to cause brain damage in some people.

I am just a student trying to study this issue between the iran and isreal.

After reading all the posts here, I conclude that US may not did the best job to prevent this war.

As one of the leading nations of this world, USA should use a more peacekeeping way to aproach this problem.

I have a couple of questions regarding this issue.
Why did the i saw in glenn deck show , many persians even children hate jewish people?

what did the jewish people did to them?
Is there any historical event that lead to it?

After reading this post there is something very interesting being brought out. The fact that the US army actually killed children, fathers, mothers, pregnacy women.

But, from what I saw, there was even childrens holding machine guns fighting. well that may let me think of the situation that do the US army have a choose to avoid hurting those people?

Moreover, Glen , if u are the person in Glen deck, i would have to say. I do have doubts on your sources for your show.
