These days I'm happier than ever, I won't say why because I'm afraid to spoil it! but anyway, I was reading nana's blog and a post about Zahra Kazemi.. suddenly a huge sorrow struck me.

She was an Iranian-Canadian middle aged woman, who got arrested in Tehran while she was taking pictures from outside Evin. They inquired her as a suspect for spying! She was raped, tortured and eventually murdered in Evin prison.

..I'm not sure if I'll publish this post.. it's Christmas for god's sake. I don't want to make you unhappy.
But I'm thinking, what if a tourist doesn't know that and it happens again?
So if you for any reason travelled to iran, try to aovid taking pictures.
And don't travel through city late at nights. The check points are not pleasant really.

Ok, now I'll tell a story about having fun in iran and one of those check points near Shemshak, that I mailed to a friend months ago but I was not sure to write it here or not. But I can't go without getting you out of the blue mood probably above lines caused.

one second..I need to find it..I'm searching through my mails.. you don't expect me to type it again, do you?...

....ya.. got it:

once in 2000 we decided to tease polices at check points.
at that time, my friend and me were going out with two guys that they were friends too. One of them had a good car and we knew they could not catch us with their old cars.

we drove to shemshak road and near the police station, One of the guys (the driver) wore his kerchief that was actually a small US flag that we know was going to kill them (you know how allergic they are to America) and we on the back sit put our feet up -like we were relaxing- so they could see we were wearing shorts. though just being in that car was enough to get us in trouble, but this way, they were like YOU ARE SO DEAD!!!!!!

After watching their shocked face for a few seconds, we escaped.

You know how twisted are mountaineer roads, so we could watch their car on the curved road coming after us, and entertain ourselves smoking a cigarette or two. when they got close, again ran off. They actually got a little too close, and chasing on that frozen road was a little scary but that was one of the best funs I've ever had.

To avoid the risk of getting into jail for "illigal relationship with opposite sex" we couldn't go out -even for a coffee- with our dates those years freely. we had to create some other ways to hang out. now that I look at those days I understand how desperate we were to express ourselves in a way that was exactly opposite of what they were trying shape us..hmmm I missed those crazy days..

Ps: I was in before-sleep-meditate, and I remembered that the road was not frozen. But still they got too close behind us, and for some moments, I could feel our friend; the driver was really nervous. But soon we distanced them again.
