My parents were here last week. My high school friend also came along. she got married when we were still in high school and after that she was hardly seen. after almost one year her daughter was born and Maryam completely disappeared.
Maryam's father, a typical-traditional Iranian man was the first reason for her to get married so soon. "I don't know if you remember those days, I was a prisoner in my home. My husband is my father's relative so I was prepared for what I was going to face..he promissed I can finish my education when he proposed. but after we got married, every thing changed. He didn't give me any money so I couldn't go to school by bus or anything. it was far from home but I attended every day, walking. then he started to complain about the house cleaning and food, and that he's been hungry everyday since I had no time for cooking. so I made all three meals every morning and put it on the table, before going to school. but he was always in his mother's house, the food remaining there untouched. Every time he was back from there, we had a fight and I knew his remote control mother was intensifying it. one day when he got home I told him let's take this food you didn't eat for your mother, probably it's dificult for her to cook since she's an old lady. at this point he got emotional and said my mom always says I should keep you from going to school while you are concerned about her.. after that he never tried to stop me from going to school."
she finished the high school, went to university and got her degree in nursing.
"My daughter -having diabetes since she was two- was a reason not to give up. I chose nursing to take better care of her."

Painting: "Game of chest" 1555 by Sofonisba Anguissola

I am looking for "young girl taching an old woman the alphabet" by Sofonisba about two hours now and amazingly, can't find it.
why women who made a part of art history are almost invisible?
